I’ve been waiting for this one all month. Because bees really, really do make me happy. They’re so happy and cute and fuzzy. And they allow our food to grow by doin’ their fancy little pollination work. They’re amazing and sadly, they’re not doing so well.

Maybe it’s cell phone signals interfering with their internal radar, maybe it’s the overuse of pesticides, or maybe it’s the varroa mite, or even something else entirely, but still, we need to keep these little lovelies around. Because, as Achim Steiner, UN Under-Secretary-General and UNEP Executive Director, said in a recent report on the declining bee population, “The fact is that of the 100 crop species that provide 90 per cent of the world’s food, over 70 are pollinated by bees.”

So adopt a beehive.
Or donate a hive.
Or even help plant wildflowers.

Do what you can to save the bees. I know I don’t want spend my life eating pre-packaged crap food. I want to eat fruits and veggies.
We need bees!

It’s true. I smashed into a fence thingy the other day.
In front of people.
And they laughed. Out loud. Rude!

But back to why bikes make me happy. I love the freedom of it. I love that I’m not wasting gas or killing the earth. I love spending time with my bf, laughing and yelling to each other while we ride.

And how cool do you look on a California beach cruiser? The answer: wicked.

Oh my goodness. Spinning is pretty much my favorite thing to do at a theme park, a crappy fair or a playground. I can’t help it and I don’t even care.

I want to spin until you throw up. I want to give you Dramamine and Psi Bands and make your eyes cross so I can laugh. Because it’s basically the most funnest thing ever.

Yeah, you heard me: the most funnest.

Yes, it’s a color. Yes, it’s supposedly a boy color. But do I care? Not so much. It’s always been my color, and I don’t care what you think. My first (fabulous) car was blue. I have blue eyes. I had blue hair. I love the Smurfs (just kidding).
I just love blues. They’re soothing and lovely. Well, most blues. Some are just fugly.

Maybe that’s why I love the ocean or flying so much. It’s just blue everywhere. And it’s so flipping nice.

Happy Earth Day, y’all! We do our part all year long (to much irritation or frustration of my dear bf), so this is just a normal Sunday for me, but I still took a bike ride, did my recycling and went for a long walk to enjoy the day.
Take a few minutes to give a crap today. Pick up some trash, say no to a plastic bag when shopping, recycle a bottle… just be nice to the Earth, especially today.

Do you have those few family members that are just so great you could talk to them for hours? Me too. But they live states and states away and I rarely see them. So when I finally do, I just want to talk and talk and talk. And talk. So when that magical time happens, I’m happy.

On the other hand, there are way more family members that I have trouble talking to for a few minutes. You know those guys, don’t pretend you don’t.
